After a sabbatical period following a 15-year career in commercial leasing, Juno, Sho-Pros founder dedicated himself to analyzing the market and identifying an underserved niche. This analysis led to the creation of Sho-Pros in 2018. Initially, Sho-Pros offered fabric storm shutters but soon realized the demand for more aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly solutions. This insight prompted the expansion of their product line to include motorized high-quality hurricane protection-grade shades and shade solutions. However, the primary demand was for motorized pergolas. Recognizing this gap in the market, Sho-Pros ventured into this niche, despite the challenges of educating the market about a locally unknown product.
Sho-Pros quickly learned that each customer had specific needs that required a diverse product line to meet. Their primary focus became providing a wide range of options for both residential and commercial customers, all under one roof. To achieve this, Sho-Pros began collaborating with leading suppliers in Europe and the United States.
Their pergolas and retractable roofs can cover areas as large as 40' x 40' without the need for columns, using aluminum and membrane. They also offer level 3 powder-coated aluminum pergolas in modules with maximun dimmensions of 12’ x 24’ or 15’ x 23’. Of cource, larger areas can be covered with multiple modules. Embarked the academic journey at New York Institute of Technology, majoring in Business Administration & Finance. However, the profound love for my family and island brought him back to Puerto Rico, where he completed my studies in the Universidad del Sagrado Corazon.

With over a decade of experience in Corporate Sales, primarily within the Telecommunication Industry, I transitioned into entrepreneurship as a landlord selling what he calls “empty space”. After almost a 20-year sting in the industry he took a sabbatical to focus on his daughter’s last years of in home living while achieving other goals like becoming a private pilot.   While at it he also extensively studied the market and needs. His search for a niche was relentless. At the end, he’s latest business endeavor was born, SHO-Pros.

During SHO-Pros early development in Puerto Rico, while his double timing location in Florida, the universe guided Christian DeSetta on his path. Together, they partnered and established SHO-Pros Florida in South Florida. The partnership allowed SHO-Pros’s footprint to expand operations throughout the Caribbean and several of the Lesser Antilles.

Meet Our President and Founder, Luis "Juno" Montañez

Luis "Juno" Montañez began his academic journey at the New York Institute of Technology, majoring in Business Administration and Finance. However, his deep love for family, island home and outdoors brought him back to Puerto Rico, where he completed his studies at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón.
